Video analytics for grain elevators and agribusinesses
Every grain truck at the vehicle entrance gets a license plate and timestamps for arrival, weighing, unloading and departure. The cameras also show people in the truck tipper zone and near bucket elevators, and movement along the perimeter at night. Every event arrives as a card with a frame, and we train the AI model for your elevator.
- A log of grain trucks with license plate and time of every stage from arrival to departure
- A separate event card when a pass does not match the weighbridge software record
- Event cards with a frame for people in the tipper zone and on the perimeter at night
Where the industry hurts
Problems we have seen at sites in this industry.
Weighbridge fraud
In an interview with a trade outlet, an industry insider describes schemes where the same truck is run across the scale twice or weight is added to the log by hand. It happens most often where the weighbridge runs without automation. Elevatorist, interview with a grain elevator industry insider, June 26, 2026
Grain leaves off the books
According to the ESBU, from March to July 2023 over 650 t of corn were shipped from one elevator in Poltava Oblast outside the established records, with losses estimated at about 2.3 million UAH. The shortfall surfaced only at the stock count. Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine (ESBU)
Workers get engulfed by grain
On September 4, 2026, in Poltava Oblast, a grain storage worker was engulfed by grain and died at the scene. Police are investigating the case as a breach of safety rules during hazardous work. Main Directorate of the National Police in Poltava Oblast
Harvest season queues with no numbers
At harvest peak, grain trucks stand on the road in front of the entrance, and nobody measures the wait. Disputes with carriers over dwell time are settled from a handwritten log.
A large site at night
Silos, flat storage warehouses and machinery are spread across an open yard. Security guards walk it a few times a night and see only the part where they stand.
What the camera will notice
Every event reaches the person in charge as a card with a frame, and the log keeps the history.
| Event | What you get | Who acts |
|---|---|---|
| Grain truck at the entrance with license plate and time | an entry in the pass log with license plate, frame and arrival time | dispatcher or checkpoint security |
| Queue at the weighbridge | number of trucks in the queue and wait time by hour of day | shift supervisor |
| Pass does not match the weighbridge record | an event card with frames and license plate when a truck bypassed the scale or was weighed twice in one trip | security or chief accountant |
| Truck not fully on the scale | an event card with a frame when a wheel is off the platform during weighing | weighbridge operator |
| Person in the truck tipper platform zone | an event card with a frame when a person is in the marked platform zone while a truck is unloading | area supervisor, occupational safety engineer |
| Driver in the cab while the platform is raised | an event card with a frame when the driver stays in the cab while the platform is rising | area supervisor, occupational safety engineer |
| Person near bucket elevators, conveyors and machinery | an event card with a frame for a person in a marked hazard zone | occupational safety engineer |
| Warehouse or gallery door open after hours | an event card with a frame when a door stays open longer than your norm | warehouse manager, security guards |
| Person near the perimeter at night | an event card with frame and time as soon as someone appears near the fence at night | security |
| Night security patrol | which route points the guard passed and when, with a frame for each point | head of security |
| Spilled grain near conveyors or in the yard | an event card with a frame for a grain pile outside the storage area | area supervisor |
| Livestock farm: an animal outside its pen or lying down for a long time | an event card with frame and time for the livestock specialist; we train an AI model for your farm | livestock specialist or veterinarian |
| Camera went offline | an event card as soon as a camera stops showing a picture, with the time of the last frame | automation engineer or security |

Regulations and requirements
What they mean for video monitoring. This is not legal advice.
- NPAOP 15.0-1.01-17 «Правила охорони праці для працівників, зайнятих на роботах зі зберігання та переробки зерна» (Occupational Safety Rules for Workers Engaged in Grain Storage and Processing), Order of the Ministry of Social Policy No. 1504 of 20.09.2017The rules prohibit the driver from staying in the cab while the truck tipper platform is raised or tilted, limit the speed of driving onto the platform to 3 km/h and require hazard zones to be marked with safety signs. The system shows people in the platform zone, and confirmed events go to the log with a frame.
- Law of Ukraine «Про метрологію та метрологічну діяльність» (Law of Ukraine “On Metrology and Metrological Activity”), Article 3Trade and commercial operations and settlements between buyer and seller fall under legally regulated metrology, so grain weight is determined by scales covered by this Law. The camera has no effect on weighing. It adds a frame, the truck's license plate and the time to every weighbridge record.
- Law of Ukraine «Про захист персональних даних» (Law of Ukraine “On Personal Data Protection”)The frames show drivers and workers, and a license plate is linked to a carrier. We agree on the purpose of processing, retention periods and access to recordings with your responsible person before launch. The system does not recognize faces and links the plate to a trip.
What we measure
- Grain truck turnaround timehow long a truck spends at the elevator from arrival to departure, every day
- Queue at the weighbridgehow many trucks wait and for how long, by hour and on peak days of the season
- Pass-to-weighing mismatchespasses without a weighbridge record and records without a pass, with a frame for each
- Recognized license plateswhich trucks came in and went out, day and night
- Events in hazard zonesconfirmed occupational safety violations per week, by zone
FAQ
Do you connect to weighbridge software?
Yes, per project. We reconcile every pass with the records of your weighbridge software and accounting system, and a mismatch arrives as an event card with a frame and license plate.
Can the camera determine grain class, moisture or impurities?
No, that is the lab's job. The camera sees the truck, the license plate, people and zones in the frame.
Will the system notice dust, smoke or fire?
We do not promise smoke or fire detection. That is the job of the elevator's fire alarm system and sensors.
Can the system handle the flow of trucks during harvest?
Yes. Every grain truck gets a record with license plate and time, on an ordinary day and at harvest peak alike. Before launch we review your entrance and tell you what is needed for plates to be read reliably.
What about a livestock farm?
That is a separate scenario: we train an AI model for the animals on your farm and show you the result on your own data before going live. Vehicle entrance and farm perimeter are configured the same way as at an elevator.
Do I need an internet connection?
Not for an on-site setup: video is processed at the elevator. We can also deploy in your own cloud or in our secure cloud; frames never leave the environment you choose.
