Construction site video analytics
See who is standing in the zone under the crane boom, who is working next to machinery, which vehicle entered the site and who showed up there at night. The system tells people, machinery, hard hats and hi-vis vests apart, and we train the AI model for your site.
- Event card with a frame when a person is in the zone under the crane boom or near operating machinery
- Log of machinery and vehicle entries with license plate and time
- Headcount by work area on the site throughout the shift
Where the industry hurts
Problems we have seen at sites in this industry.
Falls from height
According to the State Labor Service of Ukraine, 9 workers died at construction companies in Ukraine since the start of 2026, 4 of them as a result of falls from height. State Labor Service office in Ternopil Oblast, March 20, 2026
Working next to the crane
The State Labor Service describes a 2021 case in Kyiv: while vertical formwork was being installed with a tower crane, a worker fell from the 8th floor and died. People work near the crane every day, and nobody is available to watch the zone under the load every minute. State Labor Service, accident updates
Hard hats come off between inspections
The safety engineer walks the site a few times a day. In between, workers take off hard hats because of the heat and leave vests in the site cabin. This comes to light only after an incident.
Who brought how many people
Subcontractors submit timesheets, and only the site manager knows how many people actually worked on a section, if they had time to count. The gap between the timesheet and the site shows up only in the payroll.
Materials and fuel at night
Rebar, cable and fuel in machinery stay on the open site. The night guard sees one area, and the shortage is discovered in the morning at the storage area.
What the camera will notice
Every event reaches the person in charge as a card with a frame, and the log keeps the history.
| Event | What you get | Who acts |
|---|---|---|
| Person without a hard hat in a work zone | event card with a frame as soon as someone is in a work zone without a hard hat | safety engineer |
| Person without a hi-vis vest | event card with a frame as soon as someone is on a machinery route or in a work zone without a vest | safety engineer |
| Person in the zone under the crane boom | event card with a frame and time; we update the zone when the crane moves or the work section changes | person responsible for safe crane operations |
| Person next to operating machinery | event card with a frame when a person is in the danger zone near an excavator or loader | site manager, safety engineer |
| Person at an unguarded slab edge | event card with a frame when a person is at an unguarded slab edge | safety engineer |
| Machinery and vehicle entry with license plate | log of passes with plate, frame, entry and exit time | gatehouse security, site manager |
| Vehicle leaving the site after hours | event card with a frame and plate; checked against removal waybills when needed | developer's security service |
| Person near the material storage or machinery at night | event card with a frame and time as soon as someone shows up there at night | security |
| Person at the fence at night | event card with a frame and time | security |
| How many people work in each area | how many people are in each work area throughout the day, without identifying anyone; daily report | site manager, project manager |
| Crews arriving and leaving through the staff entrance | how many people entered and left by hour; named records only with workers' written consent | site manager, contractor's HR department |
| Night security patrol | which route points the guard passed and when, with a frame for each point | head of security |
| Materials in a walkway or on an evacuation route | event card with a frame of a blocked walkway or evacuation route | site manager |
| Camera went offline | event card as soon as a camera stops showing a picture, with the time of the last frame | developer's security service |

Regulations and requirements
What they mean for video monitoring. This is not legal advice.
- NPAOP 45.2-7.03-17 «Мінімальні вимоги з охорони праці на тимчасових або мобільних будівельних майданчиках» (“Minimum Occupational Safety Requirements at Temporary or Mobile Construction Sites”), Order of the Ministry of Social Policy No. 1050 of June 23, 2017Restricted access areas must be set up so that workers not involved there cannot enter, and danger zones must be clearly marked. The safety coordinator takes measures to keep unauthorized people off the site. The system shows people in such zones and on the site after working hours.
- NPAOP 0.00-1.80-18 «Правила охорони праці під час експлуатації вантажопідіймальних кранів, підіймальних пристроїв і відповідного обладнання» (“Occupational Safety Rules for the Operation of Cranes, Lifting Devices and Related Equipment”), Order of the Ministry of Social Policy No. 62 of January 19, 2018The slinger must not stand under a raised load or let other people there, and loads must not move over people. A person in the zone under the boom while the crane operates instantly triggers an event card with a frame.
- NPAOP 0.00-7.17-18 «Мінімальні вимоги безпеки і охорони здоров'я при використанні працівниками засобів індивідуального захисту на робочому місці» (“Minimum Safety and Health Requirements for the Use of Personal Protective Equipment by Workers at the Workplace”), Order of the Ministry of Social Policy No. 1804 of November 29, 2018Sets general requirements for PPE that the employer provides and the worker uses. The system checks PPE, and the list for each zone comes from your occupational safety plan.
- DBN A.3.2-2-2009 «Охорона праці і промислова безпека у будівництві. Основні положення» (“Occupational Safety and Industrial Safety in Construction. Basic Provisions”), cl. 4.30The clause requires everyone on a construction site to wear hard hats and hi-vis vests. On the Diia.Construction portal the document is now marked “archived”, so we confirm the current PPE list for the rule with your safety engineer.
What we measure
- Hard hat and vest precisionhow many hard hat and vest violations your safety engineer confirmed, by work area and period
- Events in the zone under the boomconfirmed cards per shift and per week, separately for each crane
- Headcount by work areahow many people actually work in each area against the crew request, every day
- Machinery on sitenumber of entries and time on site for each vehicle by license plate
- Night perimeter eventscards per night and how many of them security confirmed
FAQ
Do you detect hard hats already?
Yes. We monitor hard hats and hi-vis vests as PPE from your safety rules: we train the AI model for your site and show you the result on your own data before going live.
The crane moved and the building grew. What happens to the zones?
We update the zones as the site changes, and this is part of support. After every camera move we check that it sees the right area.
Does the system tell which crew member it is?
The system counts people by work area and does not identify them. Named records are possible only at the staff entrance and only with workers' written consent.
Where does the video from the site go?
Wherever you decide: on-site, in your own cloud, or in our secure cloud. Frames never leave the environment you choose.
Does this replace the safety engineer?
No. The system shows event cards with a frame, and your engineer makes the decision. Confirmed events go to the log and the period report.
Can the system see people working at height from far away?
Yes. Before launch we review the site and tell you which areas we cover with confidence and where a camera is worth adding. When the work section moves higher, we check coverage again.
